Northern Lake County sparkles at the Night of Lights.  It certainly was a ‘Night of Lights’ beginning with the strings car headlights coming into the Christmas Valley Lodge parking lot, the men and ladies in their dress clothes sporting their bobbles, bangles and sparklie’s pulled out of storage to shine in the reflection of the many hundreds of white twinkle lights in the decorations.  Yes, this was a night to remember.

The response from the community was so overwhelming.  We at the Chamber had no idea how wonderful this event held January 30th would turn out.  In the beginning we were hoping to get at least 30 people.  We had a limit of 70 people and did not think this would be a problem. Due to fire code over 20 persons had to be turned away.  We were so sorry to have this happen.  Most were very understanding and we are hoping next year we will be able to accommodate everyone wishing to attend.

The Chamber of Commerce would like to take this opportunity to thank businesses and individuals alike for their donations to the raffle. Gary Williams, the ticket man with the long arms, worked diligently selling arm stretches of raffle tickets that were drawn for over $2,100 in donated raffle prizes.  We are so proud of the citizens from north Lake County for making this such a wonderful evening and success.  Unlike any pastor we’ve ever been entertained by, Jeremy Warkentin the Master of Ceremonies, did an outstanding job.  Bruce Sorte, the Keynote Speaker, was very informative in a humorous way as well.  The Presenters of Awards did a spectacular job giving very thoughtful presentations to the award winners.  Bend Awards did a beautiful job on the Awards.  It was like a night at the Oscars!  Decorations were hung from the rafters with care by our tireless Decoration Committee volunteers and the CV Lodge crew.  Rachel and Matt Wilson along with Kelli Underhill and Fred Chug provided very good music entertainment appreciated by all. Enough can’t be said about the outstanding dinner served by the Christmas Valley Lodge. The staff gave us wonderful service as they carried plate after plate of prime rib or garlic chicken to the attending public.   Kudo’s to the cooks!  This is what communities are all about.  Again, thank you everyone!
